Reporting from Marca, Antonio Cassano recently commented on Jose Mourinho who coaches AS Roma and is reportedly being targeted by Real Madrid. Incidentally, Cassano had played at the two clubs before.
"He's just a 'filmmaker', a lot of drama. Real Madrid will never call Mourinho for their new project," said Cassano, "He doesn't really understand football," he added.
Jose Mourinho was asked about Antonio Cassano's comments. Mourinho is calm but his words are sharp!
"Everyone is free to criticize, but as Cassano said, that's a different matter. Because some of us work in football and people like him are just having fun," Mourinho opened.
"In Madrid, Cassano is only famous for his jacket (which the player wore during the introduction session-ed). In Rome, he won the Supercoppa Cup without playing, and at Inter he didn't even make the team in a friendly match in the Lombardy Cup," he explained.
History records that Antonio Cassano's career was not too bright. Bought by Real Madrid from AS Roma in 2006, Cassano only wore a white uniform for a year and then was loaned to Sampdoria and finally sold there permanently in 2008.
Cassano only made 29 appearances for Madrid in all competitions with a contribution of four goals. His best performance was indeed when he was in Rome from 2001 to 2006 with 52 goals in 162 matches in all competitions.
"'You know what trophies I won with Inter, Real Madrid and Roma. Cassano may have a problem with me, but I have no problem with him," said Jose Mourinho.
