Enea Bastianini started his journey in the factory Ducati team with disappointing results. He fell in the Portugal MotoGP sprint race as a result of being hit by Luca Marini.
La Bestia suffered a broken scapula which prevented him from participating in the main race at Portimao and the Argentina MotoGP weekend series. Luckily he did not need surgery so that the chances of returning to racing in the near future are even greater.
On Tuesday (11/4) today, Bastianini is scheduled to undergo a fitness test after previously carrying out a private test by riding a Ducati motorbike to analyze his progress. If the 24-year-old young man is not fit enough, Michele Pirro, as the Ducati test rider, is ready to be appointed as a replacement.
With a maximum of 37 points that can be won per race series, Enea Bastianini has not recorded a single point. Meanwhile, his partner, Francesco Bagnaia, is trying to defend his championship crown by occupying P2 in the drivers' standings. This means that Bastianini has never been involved in a tight duel with Bagnaia.
Meanwhile Miguel Oliveira (RNF Racing) will almost certainly make a comeback at the United States MotoGP after missing the Argentina MotoGP. However, Pol Espargaro (GasGas) is predicted to be sidelined longer due to a serious injury.
Repsol Honda has confirmed that Marc Marquez will not be playing at COTA. However, there is no update on teammate Joan Mir, who suffered a head injury over the weekend at Termas de Rio Hondo.
